The purpose of the Ergonomics Society of Korea is to contribute to development, distribution, and application of ergonomics technology for overall human and social well-being.
ESK has been addressing issues in various areas that necessitate ergonomic knowledge and applications with a membership of more than 1,800 individuals for over 40 years since its establishment in 1982. One notable initiative among these activities is the "Ergonomics Design Award," presented to outstanding ergonomic products and workplace improvement cases meticulously designed and manufactured for the
convenience and safety of consumers. We lead the way in identifying and promoting these best ergonomic practices within industries.
ESK is preparing to host a big international ergonomic conference called IEA Triennial Congress at Jeju in August 2024. We are proud to announce that ESK is the first ergonomics society in Asia to host this event for the second time. We invite everyone to join us in this wonderful congress IEA 2024.
Meanwhile, innovative changes in the socio-technical environment in recent years provide new challenges to ergonomics. Human interaction and user-centered design are becoming more important in the fields of artificial intelligence, big data,
metaverse, autonomous driving, and experience design. Human error prevention and safety system design related to the enforcement of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act are becoming the primary concerns of companies. We need to focus on addressing these issues as well.
ESK will continue to grow with our members and everyone interested in Human Factors and Ergonomics. We are always ready to provide support and stand together with you.
